The Proposal

First off:
So I had no idea it was coming none at all. A couple weeks before hand we had gotten into a pretty big fight about the whole marriage thing and I thought for sure it wouldn't be for a couple more months. We were ok by this point and I really had finally just accepted the fact that we might wait longer than I thought. And seriously I was ok with this.
So here is my story . . .
So it was my birthday. And a couple days before I had already gotten my birthday present which was a Cricut (a scrapbook thing). I got it early because he accidently told me what it was so I just opened it that day. Anyways my actual birthday was on a Sunday and Anthony told me he had originally planned for me to go on a scavenger hunt to get my present but he still wanted me to do it because he had already done the work for it. Still had no idea.

Here is me with my cricut. Sadly I have no photos of the actual proposal. Mostly cause I didn't know it was going to be a proposal and Anthony forgot because he was so nervous.

So I made my best friend Shayla come with me to do the scavenger hunt. To further prove I had no idea we were even talking about moving out together and I even said that Anthony and I probably wont get engaged til Christmas.
So the scavenger hunt Anthony made for me was really clever. So he had set up his GPS and I had to enter certain clue words into it and then it would lead me to my next destination. He sent me all over Spanish Fork and Mapleton. His last stop was at his Grandma Edenfield's house and there was this very large box covered in red fabric (he made it himself). Shayla handed me a string and told me to pull. At this point I was a little nervous. I was afraid he was going to scare me or something so I stood far away and pulled the string. He ran over to me and got down on one knee and said "Christene LaChell Choate will you marry me?" To be honest I was still in shock. Really. I remember thinking is this real? He better not be kidding. Haha. I was too shocked to have any real emotion at first. I didn't cry or anything. Which suprised me. Anyways. . . it was real and of coarse I said yes. A few moments later I asked him if he had asked my parents. I figured I would know because they would act weird or something, but nope. It was a complete suprise and so was the ring. He designed it himself. But I'll add that to tomorrow's post.

How did I know he was the one?

I'm not really sure if I believe that there is just one person meant for you. Ever. I think there is one person meant for you in a certain time. Whether or not you get married or just date or even get divorced. I think it depends on the decisions you make and where they lead you. With that being said I'm also not really sure when I knew Anthony was the "one." My mom said she knew as soon as she saw us together, but for me it wasn't as obvious as that. It was sort of a transitional thing. I guess I knew a couple of weeks after he got home from his mission that we were going to get married. I just couldn't picture my life without him, it just made sense.

Tomorrow is "The Proposal"

How it all happened. . .

It really is a long and complicated story:

So my best friend at the time was working at Albertson's and so was Anthony. Her and another friend decided to play a little prank on him by decorating his car and leaving him an anonymous note with me phone number. He hadn't ever met me before so he didn't recognize my name or the phone number. They didn't even tell me about it until it was too late. He had already called me and pretty much ruined their prank because I didn't know what was going on. Later that week we were finally introduced in person I had to have been 14 at the time. Later that week we all hung out and he bought me a lemonade.

I don't remember the next time we hung out. In fact it might have been at my 15th birthday party at Seven Peaks. Our relationship at this point was extremely casual. In fact he and my best friend sorta had a "thing" going at the time. We all got a long really well and had a lot of fun together. Fast forward about 6 mos. Anthony had gotten another job and a new girlfriend. So we didn't hang out anymore.

Fast forward another 6 mos. Anthony had broken up or whatever with said girlfriend. So hence we all became friends again. Although this time it was weird. Things were off kilter so to speak. I wasn't as good of friends with my best friend anymore and I started to become really good friends with Anthony. She became really jealous and started being really mean. So that friendship sorta fizzled out. It was a little more dramatic than that but I'd rather not get into it.

For about 8 mos. Anthony and I were really good friends. Both having feelings for eachother but not wanting to get too close because he was about to leave on a mission. For about 2 mos we stopped trying and became really close. We talked about me "waiting" for him or whatever and agreed that it would be best if we continued to write and but didn't make any promises since I was still a junior in highschool. He didn't want me missing out on stuff because I had him.

So that's how we met and came to be. I told you it was a long story. I really like though that Anthony has been a part of my life for such a long time and that we started out as friends. I am not really sure where the point of being and friend turned into something more. It sorta just happened.

This is isn't our very first picture together. I have no idea where those went. But this is the first picture we took together after he came home frome his mission. Look at my black curly hair! I miss it.
So there you go.

Next is Number 2: How I knew he was the one?

Another Mindless Challenge:

I thought it would be fun to look back at things. Also I have been bored out of my mind today and I can't think of anything to blog about.

1. How did it all begin? How you met? First Date? First Kiss? How long did you date? Etc.
2.When did you know he was the one?
3. Proposal: How did it happen?
4. The Ring
5. Engagement/Bridal Pictures
6.The colors
7. The dress
8. Your accessories
9. The ceremony/reception
10. The cake/food
11. Your song
12. Favorite and least favorite part of the day
13. Honeymoon
14. Thoughts on marriage
15. First place that you lived together
16. Kids?
17. Most recent picture of you and your spouse.

When I am done I plan on printing it out. Mostly because I haven't really done anything to remember the wedding or anything like that.
